Zongo Caucus, Youth Wing Charged To Mobilize Grassroot


The Youth Wing and the Zongo Caucus working committee of the Ayawaso Central Constituency of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, has inaugurated its working committee to see to mobilise grassroots support for the 2020 elections.


The inauguration forms part of the party’s strategic plans to disseminate its message to the electorates in the area.

The Ayawaso Central Constituency Chairman of the NDC, Dela Geraldo, tasked members to put in their best in their various committees to map out effective strategies that would ensure victory for the party in 2020.

He also advised the working committees to team up campaign vigorously for the party by mobilizing all youth and Zongo’s in the Constituency by going house to house to campaign to bring back the party to power.

Mr. Dela Geraldo noted that the party in the constituency is known for its youth friendly executives that focuses on empowering the them.

He declared that the time to lace boot for victory 2020 for the December polls has just started, and looking forward for the Electoral Commission to officially declare the party winner of the polls.

The Ayawaso Central Constituency Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Alhaji Haruna Alhassan Giwa, explained that Zongo comprises of different tribes living together in peace and harmony.

The love shown by the Zongo’s to NDC, according to the Alhaji Giwa, has to be re-energized to winning the trust of the people and bring the party back to power.

The Youth Organizer of the constituency, Mohammed Awal urged the youth to put a practical campaign approach to win more votes for the party.

Mr. Thomas Mustapha Ashong, Regional Youth organizer charged party members to guide and be vigilante at all polling and collation centers.

He advised the members to work hard in their various localities by living a life worthy of the trust of the constituents.

Mr. Ashong urged the youth to go the extra-mile in ensuring that the Ayawaso Central Parliamentary seat will be captured from the NPP for the first time and assured them of equal pay for just work done.

He advised against any skirt and blouse votes, calling on all to form a united front for the party ahead of the elections.

On his part, hon. Ismaila Ali Horoya, the NDC’s Greater Accra Zongo Caucus Coordinator urged the Workng Committee to work in unison with one voice so as to achieve their objectives.

Mr. Horoya tasked the newly inaugurated Working Committee members to try and justify the hope reposed in them by working effectively to the admiration of all.

“Let people see and feel that your selection into the committee is justifiable and that you deserve to be selected. You can only do this when there is peace and unity amongst yourselves”, Mr. Horoya emphasised.

Mr. Horoya encourages the committee to try as much as they can to sell well the ideologies and programs of former President John Dramani Mahama to the good people of Ayawaso Central.

The Parliamentary Candidate for the area, Abdul Rauf Tubazu expressed confidence that the party will win the December polls.

He said the party needs both the youth and the Zongos to win the elections.

He was in no doubt that the party has learnt its mistakes and very united to win the elections.

Rauf pointed out that internal wrangling within the Ayawaso Central Constituency caused the party’s defeat in most of the elections.
