20 Youth In Krowor Constituency Benefits From MP’s Youth In ICT Programme

In a bid to aid the youth acquire skills in Information Communication Technology, ICT to make them active information knowledge-based economy as an online digital marketing entrepreneurship training programme, about 20 youth in the Krowor Municipality have benefited from a free computer training programme champion by the Member of Parliament for Krowor, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye in collaboration with Safritech Consult.

The 20 beneficiaries were trained by Safritech Consult within four month period, designed for the youth and individuals who are unemployed but have interest in ICT in the constituency.

Some of the areas they will be taken through include intensive training in Hardware, Networking, Windows 2003 Server, Windows 2008 Server, Cisco Certified Network Administration among others.

Speaking to Ghanaianvoiceonline at the graduation ceremony at Nungua, the MP for the area, Elizabeth Afoley Quaye, she noted that the development of the youth in the constituency is her priority and for that reason she championed the ICT training for them.

She said that was the first batch of youth in ICT in the constituency who were graduated and looking at doing more to support youth who are interested in ICT.

Madam Afoley Quaye outlined some iniciative programmes given to the constituents including; Youth in Beauty Therapy, Youth Skills Development and Krowor Women Empowerment Programme among others.

She therefore charged the graduates to apply whatever they have learnt positively to improve society and impart other lives.

The facilitator of Safritech Consult, Osei Afari Sam, said programme will enable the youth leverage on ICT for productive and meaningful livelihood.

He further stated that it will also contribute to the development of the youth as well as help build a better country for all.

Mr. Osei urged them not to rely on government, adding: “Your life belongs to you, and you must drive it yourself”.

The beneficiaries were awarded with certificate in ICT programme and equipment to start their work.
