Tension is mounting in Manhean in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra region following the installation of another Zongo Chiefs in the community.

Ali Alhassan, a businessman who was installed on July 19, 2020 at his residents at Manhean as the new Zongo Chief of Manhean brought the whole town to a state of confusion.

Information gathered by Ghanaianvoiceonline.com indicates that, the degree of the tension during the installation was immeasurable.

Our checks indicated that the Anyaa Police Command was not duly notified of the installation and some Police personnel were there to support the illegal installation.

Further checks also states that residents of the area are in fear and need the intervension of the Ghana Police Service.

Further information gathered by this report is that the residents are on their hills to neighboring towns due to tension, fear and panic within the community over what they claim as a clash which may lead to lost of lives.

According to the residents, the installment of the other Zongo Chief at Manhean by some unscrupulous individuals in addition to the already existing installed Zongo Chief, Sarki Abdul-Kardil Ahmed Abdul-Kardir who have been there for over five years, there would be possible riot in the area.

The residents believes that the situation will be unbearable for them should the Ghana Police Service failed to intervene.

The residents revealed that the move by those unscrupulous individuals to installed another Chief started last year, which was back fired due to the swift response of the security agencies.

The residents further called on the Minister for Interior, Ambrose Dery and the Inspector General of Police, James Oppong Boanuh to make arrest swiftly to avoid conflict in the Manhean township.

Document sighted by this portal dated on June 1 2020 from the Amasaman District Court “B” ruled that, irrespective of the court’s aim in determining the application is not to determine the final rights but rather ensure that until the suit is finally determined, defendant does not assume title.

This prevent Ali Alhassan, the defendant from any form of installation or assume any title until the suit is determine.
