The Assembly Member for the Sakumono Electoral Area in the Tema West Municipality of the Greater Accra region, Richmond Sorgbordjor, has been arrested by the Batsonaa Divisional Police Command for allegedly inciting the youth in the community to attack the Queen for the area, Naa Borley Wulu II.

Mr. Sorgbordjor was alleged to have invited the youth for the area against Naa Borley Wulu II, for going against anybody who engaged in open defecation and charged every household to have a toilet.

A forthnight ago, Naa Borley Wulu II, complained over open defecation in the bush by the residents and asked that they stop it.

She explained that when it rains a very strong stench emanates from the bush into the atmosphere which pollutes the environment and unfriendly and threat to human health.

The residents who disregarded the advise by Naa Borley Wulu II, that they stop the open defecation, the youth in the village attack the Queen mother and her household, this led to arrest of the Assembly Member by the Sakumono and Batsonaa Divisional Police Commands.

Prior to his arrest, it was noted the Assembly Member for the Sakumono Electoral Area, Richmond Sorgbordjor, incited the youth to come out on the street to sacrifice, even with their blood in their pursuit to get their arrested colleagues released at all cost.

“You the youth must defend yourself; go out onto the streets and attack the Queen and the Police”, Mr. Sorgbordjor demanded of them.

“…..look, the easiest death is for you the youth is to go out there and die for your rights”, the Assembly Member, shouted as he instigates the youth.

Fifteen (15) other violent youth who vandalised the Batsonaa Police Crime Officer’s vehicle and attacked Naa Borley Wulu II, were also arrested.

An alleged information reaching Ghanaian Voice had indicated that Kingsley Carlos Ahenkorah, New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for Tema West used the Presidency to direct the Police to drop all the criminal charges against the ‘violent’ youth and release them from cells.
