Oyibi Mantse Outdoors “Yele Yeli” 2022


The Divisional Chief of Oyibi, Nii Boye Okanshan IV, has announced to the indigens, residents as well as the entire country about the upcoming Yam Festival (yele yeli) to be held in September, 2022.


The traditional leader gave details of activities earmarked for the week-long activities as follows;

Saturday, September 24, will begin with a general clean up exercise within the Oyibi community, then followed by a Royal visitation to Educational Institutions sited on Oyibi Lands.

This visits according to Nii Okanshan IV will be executed within two days thus; Monday and Tuesday, September 26th&27th respectively.

Furthermore, the Divisional Chief stated that Wednesday, the 28th day of September is dedicated to the playing of Cards, then the performance of traditional rites to the gods of the Oyibi land follows on Thursday, September, 29th 2022.

Friday, September 30th marks the main festival, which is slated to be held at the traditional durbar grounds (Ashieley Naa)

Saturday, 1st October 2022, will see a Royal Durbar alongside games the likes of Volleyball as well as street carnival  for the youth.

“The climax of the “yele yeli” Festival will take place on Sunday, October 2nd 2022 and would be ushered by a Thanksgiving service to offer thanks to the Almighty for a successful and peaceful celebration as being envisaged”, Nii Okanshan IV stressed.

On the issue as regards security, the traditional leader assured the people of maximum protection.

“The Police and other security operatives will be in total control of our security, before, during as well as after the celebration an iota of which could be feeled even with this press conference”, he emphasised.
