Nungua Youth Uncovers NPP Registration Fraud Scheme

Scores of constituents of Nungua in the Krowor Constituency of the Greater Accra region trooped to the Kpeshie Divisional Police Headquarters to demand the retrieval of seized voters’ Identification cards by agents working for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament of the area, Hon. Elizabeth Afoley Quaye.

One of the modus operadi of the seating NPP MP and her agents is bussing of people to registration Centres from different constituencies mostly the Volta region, specifically Keta, her Maternal Hometown and subsequently seizing their cards after the registration.

Two people (names withheld) gave the hint and the perpetuator (also names withheld) were apprehended by the police.

The agents confessed seizing the registrants ID cards of which the police was able to retrieve three of these ID Cards.

The agents further admitted before the police for working with Madam Afoley Quaye and the MCE for the area, Joshua Bortey to keep these Cards of the bused registrants to register in the area.

However, one Freeman and Shemilia are alleged to be the main actors of the ID seizure who operate around the Spintex area.

The Police, who the people do not trust following their clear actions in favour of the MCE, Mr. Bortey and the MP, Madam Afoley Quaye, has asked for time to conduct further investigations to get to the bottom of the matter.

Meanwhile, the MP, Madam Atoley Quaye and Krowor MCE, Mr. Joshua Bortey have also not denied knowledge of this nefarious activities of their assigns in the constituency before the Kpeshie Police Command.

The people of Krowor (Nungua) Municipality reiterated they do not have confidence in the Kpeshie Police Command due to their strong relationship and the kind of orders they take from the MP and his MCE.
