The Opposition National Democratic Congress has disowned member Allotey Jacobs after identifying him to be a figure being used “to satisfy the whim of a dictatorial host” of Peace FM’s Kokrooko program.
The NDC on Wednesday announced the boycott of the program following machinations to impose Mr Allotey Jacobs on the party as one of its communicators on Wednesdays.
The NDC in a statement could not fathom why the Production Team of that program will reserve one of two seats the party holds on the show to Mr Jacobs, whose submissions of late are seen to be anti NDC.
The party has kicked against Allotey Jacob’s candidature as it’s recognised communication member and deflated any attempt by Peace FM to cunningly impose him on the party while he sits in for a starkly Opposite agenda.
“Specifically, the reason for this boycott has to do with the unreasonable decision of the Producers and Host of the program host of the program as a “Social Commentator with strong leanings to the NDC”, ostensibly to spite the NDC,” the statement read.
Officially, the choice of panels for media the NDC’s programs is done in consultation with the Communication Department of the party.
It has therefore charged “all Communicators, Media Monitors, Members, and Officials of the NDC are hereby entreated to refuse any invitations and/or interviews from the said program, until the station addresses our concerns and reviews their unfair paneling system”.
