A large number of residents in the Ayawaso East Municipality of the Greater Accra Region were full of dissapointment and dissatisfied with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hajia Salma Sani over the distribution of food item meant for the needy in society.
Announcement and arrangements made with the residents prior to the distribution of the food iterms donated by the Turkish based Hudai Foundation for Muslim needy ahead of eid fidr celebration never came to light.
The MCE was alleged to had distributed such food items to NPP followers within the Municipality.
Upon the arrival of the iterms, the MCE pretended to be distributing to the people but as soon as the donors left, she ordered for the goods to be packed into her office.
The furious residents vowed not to go away until the items are given to them.
To their surprise, they saw members of NPP who came in their numbers to pack the food iterms into their various cars and sped away leaving the residents to their faith.
Angry residents were seen raising curses on the MCE and the ruling NPP.
NADMO Municipal office who supposed to take charge of the distribution of the iterms was prevented by the MCE from doing so.
It is also alleged the covid -19 items were also shared to the NPP strong holds within the Municipality, raising tensions on how state resources is shared among the members of the ruling party.
