There was hot exchanges of gun fire on Tuesday 5th May 2020 afternoon at Ngleshie Lafa Barima near Mallam Junction in Accra.
The incident happened when About twenty Five (25) hoodlums believed to have been hired by Stool Elders of Gbawe Traditional Authority invaded a land under the Ngleshie Lafa Barima Chief, Nii Ayi Okofobour I, jurisdiction without recourse to due process.
Information available indicates that the Ngleshie Lafa Barima Chief, Nii Ayi Okofobour I, who also doubles at the Weija Asafoatse had his subjects (Asafo Group) at his palace when all of a sudden they saw the hired persons on the land with a land surveyor demarcating portions of the land.
In an attempt to a stop the gun wielding invaders from entering the land they started firing warning shots.
This resulted in hot verbal and gun fire exchanges, realizing that they have been overpowered they run away before police intervention was sought.
It is quite revealing that one of the suspects standing trial at the law courts in the murder of the late Nii Kwaku Bibini, Mohammed Awal was one of the gun wielding guys who invaded the land to cause mayhem.
Ngleshie Lafa Barima elders have charged the Police to arrest him and his cohorts without delay.
The Weija District Police Command have commenced investigations into the matter.
