Hajia Alima Mahama To Win Nalerigu/Gambaga Primaries

This portal can report after several months of research into the upcoming NPP Parliamentary Primaries in the Nalerigu/Gambaga Constituency that the incumbent member of Parliament, Hajia Alima Mahama, shall emerge as the victor.

There have been some internal issues within the party in the constituency but that has not affected the high level of confidence the delegates have in the MP, according to our research and polls.

The Candidates
It must be stated that four people had initially expressed the interest to contest the primaries but one of them, Mr Peter B. Wuni, was suspended by the party for utterances he allegedly made during a live interview on a local radio station in the North East Region.

There are therefore three Candidates contesting:

  1. Hon. Hajia Mahama Alima
  2. Sampa S. Mohammed
  3. Musah Yamba Issahaku

The Delegates
The total number of delegates in the Gambaga constituency who will be voting on June 20th are 683 There are 36 Electoral Areas in the constituency, 127 Polling Stations, 17 Constituency Executives and 10 Council of Elders and Patrons.

It must be explained however that 9 of the delegates are dead. Two of the Polling Station Executives have moved to the Constituency level and one Constituency Executive moved to the Regional level.

The Contest
The portal can report after our elaborate polls and research that 100% of the Constituency Executives are for Hajia Mahama Alima. 98% of the Electoral Area Coordinators are for her and she will get 100% votes from Nalerigu, Nagboo, Gbintiri, Langbinsi and other places.

It must be added that the entire Regional Executives of the NPP in the North/East Region are for Hajia Alima Mahama.

It should be explained that the Regional Executives are not delegates in this primaries but our research has revealed that they have substantial control over the delegates. The North/East Regional Chairman, Mr Nurudeen popularly called Chairman Nuru, told the Voiceless Media researchers that it is his responsibility to get good Parliamentary Candidate for the Constituency and he is all out to ensure that Hajia Alima wins on June 20th.

Impact of the suspension of Peter Wuni on the Elections
The suspension of Hon Peter Wuni will not have any significant effect on the primaries but he will be needed to play a role in the main elections. The Voiceless Media can report that a very close confidant of Peter Wuni, Mr Sayibu Mahama, who was part of the campaign of Peter Wuni, has been appointmented a Deputy Director General of NADMO, the position Hon Peter Wuni earlier held.

The appointment of a close ally of Peter Wuni to his former position has disarmed some party faithful who would have otherwise caused some confusion in the Constituency to rather remain calm.

Why Hajia Alima will win

Some of the delegates who spoke to this portal researchers were full of praises for Hajia Alima Mahama for the huge development she has brought into the Constituency both as an MP and a Minister and have therefore promised to vote for her again.

They mentioned the Nalerigu Nursing Training College and the Gambaga Senior High School among others as legacy projects that Hajia Alima Mahama has brought to the District and Constituency which has benefited many from inside and outside the Constituency.

They also indicated that she is the only Candidate who can beat the NDC Candidate in the constituency.

This portal research Team will bring to our readers predictions from other constituencies in our subsequent publications.
