Ayawaso East Constituency Parliamentary Candidate, PC for the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Peter Mireku has embarked on fumigation exercise of some Mosques ahead of re-opening for the Moslims to start praying in them.
The fumigation was to ensure that the mosques are free of coronavirus to ensure those who go pray in the mosque are not infected with the pandemic.
The move was to prepare all the Mosques in constituency ahead of the opening on Friday June 5, 2020 which came as a result of the directive by President Addo Dankwah Akuffo-Addo on 31st May, 2020 to curb COVID-19.
In a statement sent to Ghanaianvoiceonline by the chief scribe of the constituency, Baba Ali Yussif the mosques were categorised into two; the ones that observe Friday prayers and the ones that do not.
Baba Ali said “since all the mosques will be opened on Friday 5, 2020, there is the need to cover all the mosques, we ended up covering a total of 52 mosques in the Ayawaso East Constituency”.
He added that their PC, Mr. Mireku, in a short conversation with one of the Imams requested for prayers for Allah’s intervention in this era of COVID 19 outbreak.
The management of the various mosques present at the time of the fumigation were very appreciative and commended PC Peter Mireku for a good work done, it was such a brilliant indicative.
