The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for Anyaa Sowutuom Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Emmanuel Allotey, has paid a courtesy call on the Rector of the Pentecost University College, Apostle Dr. Daniel Okyere Walker as part of his campaign tour in the constituency.
The visit forms part of Mr. Allotey’s familiarization tours in the area ahead of his ‘expected victory’ at the December polls.
Mr. Allotey in a brief remarks, expressed appreciation for the warm reception and indicated his delight in visiting the university as part of his campaign tour.
He admired the academic successes chalked by the university over the years and was optimistic Pentecost university would be a trailblazer in Africa.
Mr. Allotey commended the management for improving facilities at the university and impacting positively on the students whom he said are future leaders of the country.
“I believe my involvement in politics is to serve people ethically and our target is to empower our youth and develop the community “, Mr. Allotey stated.
In response, the Rector of the University, Apostle Dr. Okyere Walker, expressed gratitude for the visit.
He advised the Parliamentary aspirant and his entourage to abide by their promises when they are elected into office.
He also called on them to patronage the university’s radio station (Pentvars radio 96.1) to enable them propagate their message to electorates.
Apostle Dr. Okyere Walker further asked them to ensure they champion the interest of the community and the university by rehabilitating the roads and improved social amnesties to enable residents live in a conducive environment.
Constituency Chairman, Mr. Kwasi Arhin thanked the Rector and his team for granting them audience pledging to keep their word to the people.
Mr. Allotey was also accompanied by an elder of the party, Dr. Gadel Ahmed of Accra Technical University and Constituency Secretary, Mr. Edem Asamoah.
The Rector was joined by the Registrar, Mr. Foster Amoani and Financial Controller, Peter Oduro.
