Residents in the Ada East District of the Greater Accra Region have handed to the Ghana Police Service and health officials, a Nigerian who sneaked through the three borders into Ghana when he attempted to buy food at Kasseh, the commercial town of the Ada East District.
The Nigerian was picked up barely two weeks after some Burkinabe nationals were
earlier found loitering at the beaches in the district, who were apprehended for quarantine.
The Member of Parliament for the Ada East Constituency, Comfort Doyo Kudjoe Ghansah speaking to the issue when she presented wash equipment to communities in Ada bemoaned how the pandemic has led to the halt of tourism activities in Ada, the tourism hub of the region.
The hardworking legislator disclosed how vigilant Assembly Members and residents are to own up strangers and visitors as part of measures to prevent importation of the disease to the district.
Madam Doyo Ghansah has so far distributed 200 Veronica buckets each, and 30 thermometers with hand rubs and 17 polytanks with enhanced supply of water to all 27 electoral areas in her constituency.
She has in addition, provided a two-four pipe hand washing facilities at the Kasseh Market and other commercial places as well as vantage points in the constituency.
The second Minority Chief Whip however advised her party executive against branding the items with her pictures or party posters as some MPs are doing, since her gesture which is a responsibility has no political underpinning.
Madam Doyo Ghansah in a bid to step up constant supply of water in this critical time meets with the water management body in the district to fashion out means to ensure continues supply for communities.
Some resident who spoke to the ghanaianvoiceonline.com said they have formed vigilante groups who are at various vicinities and fish out stranger and suspected characters for the authorities to take the necessary action.
