The Abola Mantse and Atofotse of the Ga State, Nii Ahele Nunoo III, has survived an assassination attempt by some thugs led by one Nicolas also known as Believer and self acclaimed stool name, Nii Kofi Otuadan, claimant to the Abola Stool.
Reports says the incident occurred on Wednesday 22 September 2020, on the Dodowa-Adenta Highway after a seminar organised by the Greater Accra Regional Coordinating Council for the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs on Covid-19 at Dodowa in the Greater Accra region.
The Abola Mantse, Nii Ahele Nunoo III, narrated that thugs of Nii Kofi Otuadan, claimant to the Abola Stool attacked him in a Rambo style whiles he was in his vehicle heading towards Accra after the seminar at Dodowa.
He further stated that the 14 hoodlums attacked him personally with Penn knife removing his regalia in the process where his aide-de-camp protected him safety.
Nii Ahele Nunoo III, explained that there have been some secret plots on his life ever since he was enstooled as the Abola Chief by thugs of claimant to the Abola stool.
He pointed out that he was at the seminar in his capacity as the Chief of Abola and was duly recognised as the legitimate adding that; Nii Kofi Otuadan, a claimant to the Abola Stool was also present at the meeting and his thugs stated attacking him.
Nii Ahele Nunoo III, added that after the meeting, the claimant to the stool and his thugs attacked him in a Rambo style saying he Nii Ahele Nunoo III, is illegitimate and shouldn’t be at the meeting.
He claimed that one of the thugs of Nii Kofi Otuadan, attacked him with a Penn knife and whiles he was protecting himself not to be stabbed, the thug thorn his regalia announcing that he has been destooled which they have no power to do that.
He further stated that after the incident and on their way to his palace in Accra, the thugs followed his vehicle on the highway with speed wanting to harm him.
Nii Ahele Nunoo III, pointed out that they saw a Police Patrol vehicle and stopped them to reported the incident to them and were sent to the Adenta Police Station.
Reacting to rumours that he has been destooled, he reaffirmed his legitimacy as the legally installed Chief of Abola Quarter of the Ga State.
According to Nii Ahele Nunoo III, he was traditionally selected by his Kingmakers which was lawful by virtue of being authorized in accordance with traditions and customs of the Abola Quarter and the Ga State as a whole for making him solely representing the people of Abola.
Nii Ahele Nunoo III, called on the public to disregard rumours circulating by Nii Kofi Otuadan and his hoodlums that he Nii Ahele Nunoo III, has been striped off his regalia and destooled in public by the Asafo group describing it as malicious.
He emphasised that Nii Kofi Otuadan is from Akwa tse We of the Abola Quarter and they are entitled to be installed as Asafoatse and not the Chief of Abola.
Nii Ahele Nunoo III, added that the Asafoatse who is from the Akwa Tse clan of Ga Mashie is still alive and can be consulted.
He is therefore appealing for security protection for himself and his family members from the thugs to avoid any blood shed.
The case has been reported to the Regional Police Station for further investigation.
